‘an immersive story about burgeoning young love and the challenges of expeditious intimacy.’ - FARRAGO
Fruitcake is a confident, funny, sexually liberated person who has never needed anyone else. So why is she so drawn to the strange girl in her intro to psych class?

This one-woman-show follows Fruitcake, a first year university student who slowly becomes involved with an alluring, off-putting class mate with whom she shares a penchant for awkward situations and films with unnecessarily long titles.

But the more Fruitcake is invited into the world of her classmate turned maybe-something-more-I-mean-who-could-possibly-say; the more she realises there’s more than meets the eye to this girl, as well as something in Fruitcake’s own past she has to face if she has any hope of stepping forward into the future.

This coming of age mystery will keep you guessing until the very end, unsure what to believe and who to trust.

Join us for this portrayal of young love and friendship for the modern age at The Bauhaus, from the 30th of September to the 6th of October 2024.

show trailer with reviews:

Fruitcake Productions acknowledges the traditional Owners of the land on which we create, work and live; the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and pay our respects to Elders of this land. We recognise the past atrocities against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this land and the lost of language, communities and story due to genocide and dispossession.  Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.

We also acknowledge the role of English institutions past and present in global colonisation and oppression. As a company we aim to engage with and resist continued colonial structures within the theatre space and beyond. We thrive to make Fruitcake Productions a Safe, Inclusive and Diverse for Theatre Makers Everywhere.
